Draft for review before launch. Not legal advice: please have it checked (especially the children’s section) before taking real payments.
Privacy policy
Last updated: October 2026
Anthill Tide (“we”, “us”) is a browser game. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you (or your parent) can do about it. Questions or requests: admin@gradaisle.com.
What we collect
- Playing as a guest: the ant name you pick, your game stats (level, points, day streak, wins, matches played), the friends you follow, and a cookie that remembers this browser. We don’t ask for your real name.
- Saving your progress: your email address (or, for players under 13, a parent’s email), a password (stored scrambled, never readable), and your birth month and year (no day). We use the birthday only to decide whether a parent needs to agree.
- Buying coins: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers. We keep a record of each purchase (which bundle, when, how much) and your coin and power balances.
- When something breaks: error reports (what went wrong, which page, the browser type) so we can fix it.
- Online matches: your moves are sent to our game server while you play. They are not stored after the match, apart from your result.
How we use it
Only to run the game: your account, levels and streaks, friends, matches, purchases, and fixing problems. We don’t sell personal information, we don’t share it for advertising, and the game shows no ads. We send email only for your account (confirming it, resetting a password, approving purchases).
Who else sees it
- Stripe processes payments (Stripe’s privacy policy).
- Our email provider delivers our emails.
- Our hosting provider runs the servers the game and database live on.
- Other players see your ant name and level. Mutual friends can see whether you’re online and which world you’re in.
Children under 13
Children can play as guests without giving us any contact details. To save progress or use the shop, a child under 13 needs a parent or guardian to agree:
- The account uses the parent’s email, not the child’s. The parent gets an email explaining what we keep and must click “I agree” before the account is created.
- Every coin purchase for a child’s account is emailed to the parent, who approves and pays. The child never reaches the payment page.
- A parent can ask to see, change or delete their child’s information at any time, or withdraw consent, by emailing admin@gradaisle.com (or replying to any of our emails). Signed-in players can also delete their account from the Friends panel.
How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. Guest progress stays while the browser keeps its cookie. When an account is deleted, we remove its profile, stats, friends, coins and powers. We keep purchase records required for tax and accounting. Database backups are kept for 14 days.
Your choices
- Delete your account: Friends → Your account → Delete my account.
- Ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it: email us.
- Stop using the game at any time; guests can clear their browser data.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update this page and, for accounts, email you. For children’s accounts we’ll ask the parent again before using information in a new way.
